iHobbs Academy Training Terms

Last reviewed: 25 September 2026

These terms apply to iHobbs Academy training. They set out enrolment and payment, transfers and cancellation, attendance, assessment and certification, training kits, intellectual property, models, conduct, support and your statutory rights.

Enrolment & Payment

Every iHobbs Academy Face to Face course must be paid in full to secure the place. A Face to Face training place is not confirmed until the applicable course fee has been received in full.

Where a programme has prerequisites or eligibility requirements, these should be established before payment is accepted. The applicable course fee and programme inclusions will be communicated before enrolment.

Where an application is required, it is reviewed for professional suitability and eligibility before enrolment. An enquiry or application does not itself confirm a place or oblige the applicant to make payment.

Full payment secures the Face to Face place; it does not guarantee completion of attendance, competence, a successful assessment outcome or certification.

Online course purchases follow the payment and access terms stated for the individual online programme. The Face to Face place-confirmation rule is not an online-only purchase or access rule.

Academy enrolments are governed by these Training Terms and the applicable course information, not the salon Booking & Cancellation Policy.

Your Course & Enrolment Information

These terms cover online, Face to Face and Hybrid education where offered by the individual programme. The course page or written enrolment information is authoritative for the specific format, duration, prerequisites, inclusions, kit or materials, assessment arrangements, accreditation status, price and any compulsory additional costs.

Review the information for your chosen programme before committing. Where any course detail or financial commitment is unclear, ask the Academy before enrolment or payment.

Student Cancellation & Transfers

If a student becomes unable to attend their confirmed training dates, they should contact iHobbs Academy as soon as possible. The Academy's normal first solution is to offer one transfer to alternative available training dates.

Transferred training should normally take place within 12 months of the original training date. Any further transfer is at the discretion of iHobbs Academy.

Where a student chooses to withdraw completely rather than transfer, any cancellation charge will take account of the timing of the cancellation and losses reasonably incurred by iHobbs Academy.

Cancellation framework:

  • More than 28 days: reasonable costs and losses already incurred.
  • 15 to 28 days: up to 25% of the course fee.
  • 8 to 14 days: up to 50%.
  • 7 days or less: up to 75%.
  • Non attendance without notice: up to 100%.

These percentages are maximums rather than automatic penalties. Any amount retained will be considered in light of the circumstances, losses reasonably incurred and applicable consumer rights.

Non Attendance

Where a student fails to attend confirmed training without prior notice, the confirmed training dates are lost. There is no automatic entitlement to another training date or refund. Where genuine exceptional circumstances exist, iHobbs Academy may choose to offer alternative arrangements at its discretion.

Late Arrival & Missed Training

Students are expected to arrive on time and attend the complete scheduled programme. iHobbs Academy is not obliged to compress or repeat missed teaching during the remaining training time where doing so would compromise the programme or other students.

Where missed training prevents completion of required learning or assessment, additional training or reassessment may be necessary. Where additional private training is required because of student lateness or absence, an additional fee may apply. Any such fee will be communicated before the additional training is provided.

Assessment, Competency & Certification

Payment and attendance do not guarantee certification. Certification is awarded according to the assessment and competency requirements of the individual programme.

Where further practice, evidence or reassessment is required, the student must satisfy the applicable programme requirements. Different iHobbs Academy programmes may have different assessment and certification pathways.

Where competence must be demonstrated, attendance or payment alone does not guarantee a successful assessment outcome or certificate. A certificate should be understood according to the individual programme's stated certification pathway; it does not automatically establish assessed competence or external accreditation.

Training Kits

Where a programme states that a training kit is included, the kit forms part of that programme. Kit contents are programme specific. iHobbs Academy may substitute an item with an equivalent or improved professional product where appropriate unless a particular product has expressly been guaranteed.

Manuals, Educational Materials & Intellectual Property

Manuals, supporting documents, assessment materials and other iHobbs Academy educational resources are provided for the enrolled student's own professional education. They must not be reproduced, redistributed, sold, uploaded or shared without appropriate authorisation.

Completion of an iHobbs practitioner programme does not grant permission to reproduce the programme, teach the iHobbs curriculum or certify other practitioners. Any educator or instructor authorisation is separate.

Models & Practical Training

Practical arrangements vary according to the individual programme. Students will be informed whether practical work involves mannequins, live models or another approved assessment format. Where a student is required to provide a model, this will be communicated in advance.

iHobbs Academy retains the right to determine whether a proposed model is suitable. A practical procedure may be refused where proceeding could compromise the model's hair, scalp, safety or professional standards. Where model suitability prevents completion of a required assessment, alternative assessment arrangements may be required.

Student Conduct

Learners are responsible for completing required pre-learning, attending scheduled training, submitting required work and meeting the assessment standards for their programme. Where a suitable model is required, learners must follow the communicated model arrangements and suitability requirements.

Students are expected to behave professionally and respectfully and to follow reasonable educator instructions. iHobbs Academy may stop a practical procedure where continuing could compromise safety, hair or scalp integrity or professional standards.

Serious misconduct, threatening or abusive behaviour, harassment, deliberate disregard of safety instructions or substantial disruption may result in removal from the training environment. Removal from training does not automatically determine any financial outcome. This will be considered under these terms and applicable consumer rights.

Photography & Recording

Students may photograph their own practical work subject to appropriate model or client consent and educator instructions. Recording substantial demonstrations, presentations or teaching sessions requires express permission from iHobbs Academy.

Any authorised recordings are for personal learning and must not be used to reproduce, distribute, sell or teach iHobbs Academy material. Where iHobbs wishes to use identifiable photographs or video of students or models for marketing purposes, appropriate separate consent will be obtained.

Post Training Support

The formal post training support period is determined by the individual programme. Where applicable, students may submit appropriate evidence of their work for professional feedback during that support period.

Post training support does not replace additional education where substantial retraining is required. After the formal support period ends, iHobbs Academy may continue to assist former students at its discretion. There is no Academy wide contractual entitlement to lifetime personal educator support.

Online Course Access

Course access and personal educator support are separate. Where an existing student originally purchased a programme expressly including lifetime course access, iHobbs Academy will continue to honour that commitment subject to the applicable course and platform terms.

The access period for future online programmes will be stated before enrolment. Lifetime course access does not mean lifetime individual educator support.

Cancellation or Postponement by iHobbs Academy

Where iHobbs Academy must cancel or postpone confirmed training, suitable alternative dates will normally be offered first. Where iHobbs cancels the training and cannot provide a suitable alternative, the appropriate course fees paid will be refunded in accordance with applicable terms and consumer rights.

Students are encouraged to consider flexible or refundable travel and accommodation arrangements. iHobbs Academy does not make a blanket commitment to reimburse consequential costs such as accommodation, travel or loss of earnings except where legally required.

Accreditation

Accreditation is programme specific. Only accreditation that is current and verifiable will be represented as current. Where accreditation or renewal is pending, it will not be represented as completed.

Completion of an iHobbs Academy programme does not guarantee acceptance for insurance, trade accounts, employment or any other third party service. Third party organisations determine their own eligibility requirements.

Not every programme has the same accreditation or certification arrangements. Training does not guarantee income, professional success or business outcomes.

Distance & Online Enrolment

Where statutory cancellation rights apply to a distance or online enrolment, iHobbs Academy will provide the applicable cancellation information before the student becomes contractually bound.

Where immediate access to digital training content is requested, any legally required express consent and acknowledgement relating to commencement of digital supply and cancellation rights will be obtained.

Questions & Concerns

If you have a question or concern about enrolment, training, assessment or course access, contact iHobbs so the Academy can consider it in the context of your programme and the applicable terms. The Academy enquiry and Contact routes are linked below.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Training Terms is intended to exclude or restrict consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
