Learn to plan the complete service with professional judgement — from consultation and controlled installation through blend, maintenance, removal and reassessment.

Course Overview

More Than Attaching a Nano Strand.

The programme prepares students to assess suitability, plan around the client’s natural hair and deliver the complete Nano service responsibly. Professional work depends on understanding support, positioning, movement, concealment, aftercare and when not to proceed.

The purpose is informed practice and demonstrated competence, not a promise of quick commercial readiness.

Who This Training Is For

The standard small-group format is for students with an existing hairdressing or hair extension background and is limited to a maximum of four students.

Private one-to-one training is available to experienced professionals who prefer individual tuition. Complete beginners are trained strictly one to one because they require additional educator time for foundational sectioning, tool handling and controlled placement.

Beginners can be introduced to Nano Extensions over the two days, but continued practice is required before working independently on paying clients.

What You Will Learn

Principles for the Complete Nano Service.

These high-level themes describe the learning journey. Detailed hand movements and technical sequences are taught through demonstration and directed practice.

  • Nano foundations, professional tools and hair quality

Understanding the individual-strand method, professional tool use and the hair-quality considerations that inform responsible product selection.

  • Consultation, suitability and contraindications

Assessing the natural hair, scalp, client goals, maintenance commitment and reasons to modify, postpone or decline a service.

  • Tail Comb Visibility Assessment

Using the approved coverage test as one part of a complete suitability assessment before considering placement.

  • Colour matching and installation planning

Planning colour, length, volume and distribution around the individual client rather than relying on one universal map.

  • Support, sectioning, placement and movement

Considering supporting natural hair, controlled tension, attachment position, concealment and natural movement throughout the installation.

  • Full-head mannequin installation

Developing the complete installation through educator demonstration, directed practice, observation, feedback and correction.

  • Blending, finishing and aftercare

Creating an appropriate finished result and giving responsible guidance for ongoing home care.

  • Maintenance, removal, refit and troubleshooting

Removing and reassessing professionally, planning responsible refits and investigating slippage, tension or breakage concerns.

  • Professional boundaries and continued development

Working within professional competence, keeping records, approaching problems responsibly and building consistency before commercial speed.

Tail Comb Visibility Assessment

The Tail Comb Visibility Assessment is a coverage test. The tail end of a tail comb is placed underneath the natural hair in the area where Nano placement is being considered, and the remaining hair is allowed to fall naturally over it. If the tail comb remains visible, a Nano attachment is also likely to be visible and placement should be avoided in that area. Full concealment indicates greater visual coverage, but it does not replace the full suitability assessment.

How the Training Works

Training combines the approved Nano Student Training Manual and Supporting Resource Pack with educator demonstration, directed practice, observation, feedback and correction.

Students learn and are assessed on a human-hair mannequin head. The practical competency assessment requires a complete full-head Nano installation. No live clients or live models are used.
