The Silent Weaves™ Method
Beautiful extensions should make sense for the hair carrying them.
Silent Weaves™ is the proprietary iHobbs weft extension methodology, developed to create length, volume or both while placing the natural hair at the centre of the service.
Rather than deciding how much extension hair to fit and expecting the natural hair to accommodate it, the process begins with the client’s own hair. Its strength, density, positioning, desired result and lifestyle all influence the installation plan.
Particular attention is given to appropriate weight distribution, controlled tension, positioning, concealment and professional maintenance. The aim is not simply to create a secure attachment. It is to create a beautiful extension result that the client’s natural hair can appropriately support.
Silent Weaves™ is therefore not one fixed installation applied identically to every client. Each service is individually planned around the person wearing it.
The natural hair determines the plan. Not the other way around.
What Makes Silent Weaves™ Different
A considered approach to weft extensions.
Silent Weaves™ is not defined simply by how the extensions are attached. The difference lies in how the entire service is planned around the client’s natural hair.
Every installation is considered individually, with attention given to the amount of hair being added, where that weight is positioned, how the extensions will be concealed and how the natural hair will support the finished result.

Appropriate Weight Distribution
More hair is not automatically better. The amount and placement of extension hair should be appropriate for the density and strength of the client’s natural hair.

Controlled Tension
A secure installation should not depend on unnecessary tension. Silent Weaves™ is designed with careful consideration of how the natural hair is being loaded and supported.

Strategic Placement & Concealment
Placement is planned around the individual client. Natural density, haircut, head shape and the desired finished result are considered so the extensions can sit discreetly within the natural hair.

Maintenance Matters
The quality of an extension service is not determined only on fitting day. Silent Weaves™ is supported by professional maintenance, with refitting generally required every 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the individual client and their natural hair growth.
Beautiful extensions are not just about what you can see. They are also about how thoughtfully the work underneath has been planned.
Who Silent Weaves™ May Be Suitable For
Is Silent Weaves™ right for your hair?
Silent Weaves™ can be adapted for different natural hair densities and different extension goals, but it is not automatically suitable for everyone.
The starting point is always your natural hair and what it can appropriately support.
Fine hair does not automatically exclude you. Fine hair requires particularly careful assessment and individual planning around support, weight and tension. Medium or thicker hair still requires the same professional judgement and does not mean unlimited extension weight.
Silent Weaves™ may be considered if the client:
- Wants to add length, volume or both to natural hair.
- Has sufficient suitable natural hair to support the proposed extension weight.
- Has enough natural length and density for the extensions to be blended and concealed appropriately.
- Wants a professionally planned weft installation rather than a standard fitting applied the same way to every client.
- Is prepared to follow the required home care and return for professional maintenance, normally every 6 to 8 weeks.
When we may recommend something different
Silent Weaves™ may not be appropriate where the natural hair does not have sufficient strength, density or suitable supporting areas for the proposed installation, or where there is a hair or scalp concern that makes an extension service inappropriate.
In those circumstances, we will not simply fit the extensions because they are the method originally requested.
Depending on what we find, we may discuss another extension method or, where the concern is hair thinning or hair loss rather than an extension requirement, guide the client towards the appropriate iHobbs Hair Loss consultation pathway.

What to Expect
Your Silent Weaves™ journey
From planning the installation to maintaining it properly, Silent Weaves™ is treated as an ongoing professional service rather than a one day fitting.

Consultation & Planning
We begin with your natural hair and the result you would like to achieve.
We assess relevant factors including natural hair strength and density, concealment, desired length and volume, colour, lifestyle, styling requirements and the amount of extension hair your natural hair can appropriately support.
Your installation is then planned specifically for you.

Your Fitting
Your Silent Weaves™ installation is created according to the agreed plan, with attention to positioning, weight distribution, controlled tension and concealment.
Once fitted, the natural hair and extension hair are blended and finished to create the intended result.
- 03
Living With Silent Weaves™
You will receive guidance on caring for your extensions between appointments.
This includes appropriate brushing, washing and conditioning at home, drying, sleeping, heat styling, exercise, swimming and what to do if you experience unusual discomfort, significant slippage or another concern.
Good home care supports your extensions, but it does not replace professional maintenance.

Maintenance Every 6 to 8 Weeks
Silent Weaves™ normally requires professional maintenance and refitting every 6 to 8 weeks, depending on natural hair growth and individual circumstances.
At iHobbs, this is not simply a tightening appointment.
The existing installation is professionally removed. The natural hair is assessed, retained natural shedding and tangling are managed, and the previous placement is reconsidered before the extensions are refitted. If an area should be rested or the installation needs to be modified, that decision is made before reinstallation.
Remove. Reassess. Replan. Refit.
