From Knowing to Teaching
Knowing How to Perform a Specialist Technique Does Not Automatically Mean Knowing How to Teach It.
Practitioner expertise and educator capability are related, but they are not the same skill.
Teaching asks a professional to structure knowledge so it can be followed, demonstrate clearly rather than quickly, support learners who progress at different speeds, give correction that improves practice, and assess competence honestly.
The Educator Programme exists to develop that capability — not to reward experience, but to build the discipline of educating others to a competent standard.
Entry Criteria
Who May Apply.
The Educator Programme is advanced professional development. Appropriate prior professional competence is required. Each application is reviewed for suitability before a place can progress.
Professional client experience
A minimum of three years of professional client experience in your specialist field.
Evidence of client work
A professional portfolio or link to client work evidence that you have permission to share.
Accredited specialist certificate
Hold an accredited certificate in the specialist subject or technique you intend to teach. Documentary evidence may be requested during suitability review.
Adult teaching qualification
Hold a recognised basic qualification for teaching adults, such as AET Level 3, or the appropriate equivalent in your country, or be actively working towards one.
Programme Areas
The Areas the Programme Addresses.
The programme develops educator capability across the following areas. These are the focus of professional development, not a detailed curriculum or timetable.
- 01Teaching methodology
- 02Curriculum development
- 03Assessment
- 04Professional standards
- 05Learner support
- 06Ethical education
- 07Demonstrating technical knowledge
- 08Corrective feedback
- 09Developing competent practitioners
Selective Application
How the Selective Application Journey Works.
The Educator Programme is not an ordinary instant checkout. An application exists so that suitability can be established properly — for the applicant as much as for the Academy.
It is not used to create urgency, and it does not behave like direct enrolment.
- 01
Submit your application
Complete the dedicated application form. Provide the information that allows iHobbs Academy to assess your readiness for the programme.
- 02
Application review
Your application is reviewed for suitability. This is a professional conversation about readiness, not a sales step.
- 03
Decision
You will be informed of the outcome of your application. Acceptance is not automatic and is not guaranteed.
- 04
If accepted
Only after acceptance would any further arrangements be discussed. Submitting an application creates no payment or enrolment obligation.
After the Programme
From Programme Completion to Course Accreditation.
The Educator Programme is designed for experienced practitioners who already hold an accredited certificate in the specialist subject they intend to teach and who hold, or are working towards, a recognised adult teaching qualification such as AET Level 3 or the appropriate equivalent in their country.
After successfully completing the programme, participants will receive practical guidance and support from iHobbs Academy to prepare and pursue individual accreditation for the courses they intend to deliver, including guidance on applying through ABT where appropriate.
Accreditation is awarded by the relevant accrediting body and remains subject to its own criteria and approval process. Accreditation is not guaranteed.
